Les Petits Sorciers - The Little Sorcerers


Here is an introduction on the artists that will be teaching you during the Workshop.

Les Petits Sorciers is a troop created by Papa Kouyaté.
They tour in France last year was so successful that we had to organise to work with them again !
Moussa is the youngest of these 7 teenagers. He proved that you can be a djembéfola (master) at the age of 12 !
The boys are all coming from popular neighbourhoods of Conakry, they were taught the traditional rhythms of Hamanah by Moussa's father, the famous percussionist Fadouba OULARE.

The workshop are 10 days of teaching.

Workshop :
From Monday 25th February to Friday 07th March 2008

- Djembe, Dununs : 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
- Balafon : 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
- Dance : 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.


Where :
In Villa Elijah, on the Island of Roume (Room), a small traditional fishing village, in the archipelagos of Loos,
30 minutes boat away form the coast of the Guinean capital, Conakry.

Cost :
- Danse workshop : 500 EUROS.
- Djembé, Dununs workshop : 500 EUROS.
- Balafon workshop : 500 EUROS.
- Danse and Percussions workshops : 700 EUROS .

The week's program : From Monday to Friday

8 AM : Breakfast
9 AM : Danse or Balafon class
11 AM : Percussions class
1 PM : Lunch
2.30 PM : Danse or Balafon class
4.30 PM : Percussions class
6.30 PM to 8 PM : Free Time
8 PM : Diner

Evenings : Dunumba, Sabar, Yankadi, Ginéfaré ... at the Villa.

The prices listed above includes :
- The accommodation and 3 meals a day in Villa Elijah.
- 2 bottles of water per day.
- The access to the workshops given by the best artists in Guinea.

The prices listed above DO NOT includes :
the Plane's tickets, the Visa.

To visit Guinea you will need a visa, and to obtain your visa you will need a letter of invitation. We will provide you with one when you enrol with us.

Some of you would like to accompany their friends and family but not enrol the workshops; we have solution !

For 300 euro including accommodation and meals.
You can trek the Islands to discover the colonisations ruins, and sunbath on the beautiful beaches of Room, or fishing and boating (additional cost for those activities).
